Customer Care Interface and Report Engine
This appendix describes how to use the Content Filtering Customer Care Interface (CF-CCI) to provide customer support, and the Report Engine (RE) to generate subscriber usage reports.
CF-CCI System Usage with a Client Workstation
Content Filtering CCI is a Web-based GUI interface to provide information to support staff in the operator’s customer-care support center. Customer care staff can provide support and solutions to subscribers who are having problems with the content filtering results and policies associated with their account.
*IMPORTANT: For information on system requirements for a client workstation to access CF Customer Care Interface server through HTTP, refer to the CF Customer Care Interface Client Recommendations section in the Content Filtering Support Overview chapter.

Generating EDR Reports through Report Generator
This section describes how to generate the reports using the Report Generator tool.
Report Generation
The Report Generator utility in CF-CDP is a script based tool responsible for report generation and EDR parsing. A script-based utility generates reports in XML format for content filtering subscribers and report engine server takes care of EDR parsing.
The Report Generator provides the following types of reports:
l
l
l
These reports can also be generated from the WEM GUI. For more information, refer to WEM Online Help.
*IMPORTANT: Data from CF-System in the form of EDR files are fetched, parsed, and stored in database at CF-CDP server. It is mandatory that EDR files must contain following fields to generate EDR reports through Report Generator:

sn-start-time
radius-calling-station-id OR radius-user-name
sn-cf-category-rating-type
sn-cf-category-classification-used
sn-cf-category-flow-action
sn-cf-category-policy
sn-cf-category-unknown-url

If these mentioned fields are missing from the header of EDR file, Report Generator will skip those EDR files for report generation purpose.
The usage format of the command used to generate the EDR reports is as follows:
xmlGenerator --s <StartDate> --e <EndDate> --t <1|2|3> --i <IMG-Name> --n <NAI> --d <SCBRID> --u <URL-Path>
–or–
xmlGenerator -startdate <StartDate> -enddate <EndDate> -reporttype <1|2|3> -img <IMG-Name> -nai <NAI> -scbrid <SCBRID> -url <URL-Path>

Refer to Figure C-4 for a sample of Overall Summary Report.
Description: This is a very fine level of reporting in which you will get detailed information about each URL, when it was visited, etc.
Refer to Figure C-5 for a sample of Subscriber Detail Report.
Description: This is a higher level of report which will show how many times the URL was visited. This is a mandatory parameter.
Refer to Figure C-6 for a sample of URL Summary Report.

For descriptions of these reports, see the Report Engine (RE) section in the Content Filtering Support Overview chapter.
File Naming Convention and Report Storage
The Report Generator stores the generated reports in the /report directory of the cdp_base_directory with the following naming convention:
ReportType_ReportGenerationDate_ReportGenerationTime.xml
The following is the convention for naming variables:
l
ReportType: This report type can be any one of the following:
l
OverallSummary: For Overall Summary Report
l
SubscriberDetail: For Subscriber Detailed Report
l
URLSummary: For URL Summary Report
l
ReportGenerationDate: Report generation date in UNIX or POSIX format.
l
ReportGenerationTime: Report generation time in UNIX or POSIX format, i.e. in hr:min:sec.millilsec format.
The following are examples of report file names:
